El’Vee – “Jealousy”

The faces of twin sisters, Lilian and Vivian are recognizable from the videos of “Enter the Place” and “Dance For Me.” The twins worked as part of an entertainment company called Coko Bar London, which was instrumental in putting Afrobeats on the map in the diaspora. The pair have been in and around the corridor for a while, pursuing their shared music dream alongside other engagements like education, work, and family.

Based primarily in the UK and periodically visiting Nigeria, the singing twins have explored these diverse spaces in promoting their craft. El’Vee as they are fondly called, made appearances in two seasons of the famous X-Factor UK. In Nigeria, the pair featured Don Jazzy on their Sarz-produced debut single titled Oga Pata Pata, which was released in 2013. They also have a priced Harrysong’s co-written record on their shelf.

El’Vee has a unique music style that combines elements of Electronic music and Afrobeats to make a sound that music audience inside and outside Africa can dance to and add to their playlists. The thoughts behind their songs are commonly inspired by the realness and feminine drive of Lilian and Vivian, specially produced for a tribe of empowered and go-getting individuals called the El’Veellains.

2020 saw their planned first single released, a song titled “Money”, which is composed of a danceable Afrobeats pattern. Produced by Tiwezi, the song is expected to set the tone for their year, ahead of further releases that reflect the energetic and dynamic character of the El’Vee twins.

El’Vee twins are going full throttle on their music, with the release of a new single and their debut EP titled U.A.R, which stands for Unapologetic African Rhythms for rollout during the course of the year.
