Darrin Davis, known professionally as DDPresents, is an American recording artist, producer, and audio engineer. He is the founder of Rising Uncovered Studios, an independent music platform focused on production, promotion, and artist development. Davis is known for his solo releases as well as collaborations with underground and mainstream artists. His work spans hundreds of production and engineering credits across major digital platforms.
Early Life
Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Camas, Washington, Davis began his music journey in middle school, singing in choir and performing solos. In eighth grade, he started producing music using Audacity, learning the basics of equalization and compression. He also launched a YouTube channel that grew to over 25,000 subscribers and six million views, giving him early experience in content creation and promotion.
Education
Davis expanded his skills using FL Studio during high school, recording over 200 songs with regional artists before turning 21. He later attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences (CRAS) in Arizona, receiving formal training in production, post-production, live sound, sound design, and broadcasting. At CRAS, he became proficient in Pro Tools and interned at Demŭn Studios in Phoenix, assisting with sessions and video content creation.
Career
Davis began releasing music independently in 2020 with tracks like “Into You,” “Face,” and “Stay,” which surpassed a million streams on Spotify. In 2022, he co-produced and featured on “MIA” alongside $teven Cannon, Nessly, Crape, and Paycheck, described by Rap Fiesta as a “star-studded hype record.” That year, he launched Rising Uncovered Studios to provide beat licensing, engineering, and promotional services.
In 2024, he mixed “JIGGY,” the debut single from AZ E$CO, and collaborated with Smokepurpp, Almighty Jay, Kamiyada+, and Trinidad Cardona. With over 900 production and engineering credits, Davis has worked with artists like NO1-NOAH and MarMar Oso, contributing to the West Coast and underground music scenes.
