Trapikal Gawd II is Hybrid Calypso. It’s a blend of social commentary, storytelling, a futuristic island sound seasoned with rude boy culture. 1st Klase has collaborated with some of the top creatives from Trinidad and Tobago to deliver an experience of the lifestyle of the ghetto youths in the Caribbean island.
The 16-track album features Trinibagonian artists such as Jahllano, Sykaflo, Derrty, Steevoo, Red So Dred and Jay Nahge. The first single called “Freakahzoid” is accompanied with visuals, with locations jumping from an underground garage with IG models “doin it fih de dollars” to 1st Klase playing tennis with his team. With rumbling 808 drums, influences and melodies from soca, hip-hop, trap and R&B, Trapikal Gawd II tells the story of trap life in the Caribbean.
