Introducing 5 Fires, better known as Brendon Brady, a 38-year-old music aficionado from Langley, British Columbia. As a child, he was engrossed in the dynamic music environment, which was ignited by witnessing his father play as a traveling band drummer. Brendon’s love of music only grew over time, starting with his early years of playing on his dad’s drum set and excitedly anticipating the chance to record his favorite songs on cassettes. After a break, Brendon used a difficult time to rediscover his love for singing. He used it as therapy and finally started taking classes. His motivation was rekindled by this comeback, and as a result, an encouraging online community was formed, eager to follow his musical development.
Gaining self-assurance, Brendon made contact with business professionals for his debut single, “Threw My Life Away,” which was produced by Kevin Rudolf. Hollywood Pompeii Studios, a studio in Kenner, Louisiana, owned by Hollywood Pompeii and his business partner Hollywood Jamie James, also filmed a music visual for the single. Miami, Florida was the location of the “Threw My Life Away” video shoot. In the visual, Brady is shown performing in an Airbnb that American record producers Cool & Dre are hosting. Worldwide, more than 75 million recordings have been sold by Cool & Dre together. The pair has collaborated with Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Juvenile, and Fat Joe, along with many other well-known charting artists.
The visual, which was captured on camera in Miami, demonstrated Brendon’s fortitude and will to use hardship as inspiration for his work. Because of his passion for music and willingness to take chances, Brendon was able to pursue other musical endeavors and work with American singer-songwriter, record producer, multi-instrumentalist, and New York City native, Kevin Rudolf. The 2008 debut single “Let It Rock” by Kevin Rudolf, featuring Lil Wayne, became his biggest hit and peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the song as quadruple platinum.
